Photography and The City

Today we got a new brief  for professional frameworks 1, titled 'Photography and The City', I am looking forward to this assignment as there is more room for me to be able to show how I view the city through my eyes. We also looked at numerous photographers and looked at psychogeography, both of which I need to research  further.

Some of the work that I am interested in are by the following photographers:
  •  Eugene Atget
  • The Boyle Family
  • Rut Blees Luxemburg
  • Richard Wentworth
  • Sergey Larenkov
  • Stephen Gill
  • Brassai

Having just looked at these photographers work very briefly I need to research them further to gain a better understanding of who they were/are and what they do to capture their photographs.

From also briefly researching pschogeography I have found that it is about viewing the city and environment in a new way, rather than someone taking the same route all of the time when going from one place to another, its about taking them out of that zone and making them walk a different route than normal, allowing them to view the city in a new and different way. This is just what I have found from my brief research, over the next few weeks I am going to research psychogeography further to enable me to have a better understanding of what it is about.
